This workshop will delve into the rich cultural traditions of the Chinese Moon Festival and the Māori Matariki Festival. By examining the shared themes of family, harvest, and celestial observation, we will explore the cultural connections between these two significant celebrations. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural significance of these festivals, as well as the contemporary practices and rituals associated with them. Through hands-on activities, such as lantern making and traditional food preparation, participants will have the opportunity to engage with these cultural traditions firsthand. This workshop aims to foster intercultural understanding, promote cultural exchange, and celebrate the diversity of cultures.
